As a major ICT service provider, Ordina needs up-to-date information to enable timely adjustments to its business operations. In order to meet this need, Ordina’s finance department must produce a monthly budget and forecast. Access to timely and reliable financial insights is essential for supporting strategic decisionmaking and maintaining operational agility. 

In the old situation, Ordina made a quarterly forecast, which resulted in frequent requests from the organisation for updates. The interim delivery of standard reports required significant time and placed considerable pressure on the financial department. The added value of these standard reports was also not always clear. It was therefore necessary to organise this process differently to meet the needs of the organisation. A more streamlined, accurate, and scalable forecasting process became essential for supporting businesswide information requirements. 

Ordina already worked with SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) for the consolidation process. By also setting up SAP BPC for budgeting and forecasting, a better grip on these processes was gained. Integrating all key financial processes into a single platform improved data consistency, transparency, and process standardisation. Making data analyses now not only provides insights but also gives direction to the decision-making process. The entire financial process becomes structured and no longer ad hoc. With this implementation, Ordina has switched from a quarterly forecast to a monthly forecast within SAP BPC. This was an important starting point for the realisation of a structured and simplified process. In addition, the organisation now works with ‘one version of the truth’, as all relevant data is centralised within a unified platform.
